Because of the threat of the virus, many communities have not allowed visitation for family members. The physical and emotional toll that takes on seniors is very real and can stop them from living their best life in a community. Lansdowne Heights has been selected as a rapid Covid-19 test location, which means that a family can move their loved one into our community permanently or for a short term stay of 4 to 6 weeks and still visit with their loved one on a regular basis.
Family members (limit to one or two only for now) can come to visit for a few hours or all day. Because the number of rapid tests that are sent to us each week will vary, all visits will need to be scheduled by calling the community and setting up an appointment in advance for your visit. Please call 703-936-7300. Masks will still be required to be worn at all times when visiting. There will also be restrictions on items being brought into the community in order to limit the risk of compromising the health and well-being of our other residents.
As the government rolls out its plan for the COVID-19 vaccinations, communities like ours will be the first in line to receive it. We plan to be able to offer the vaccine to residents moving into the community and then to the primary family member that will be visiting the resident. Restrictions will apply based on the availability of the vaccine. We understand the importance of family visits and visual updates on the health of your loved one, and we want to do all that we can to make family visitation seem as normal and safe as possible.
Lansdowne Heights has 24/7 licensed nursing managed by our RN and a medical director, which can help make care, access, and convenience possible. If you have any questions about the future of vaccinations and rapid testing at Lansdowne Heights, please call us at 703-936-7300.
